“Baby Yoda? More like Baby GO-da the polls, am I right?” Says Man Who Is Dying Inside

As 2020 winds to a close and the election grows ever nearer, many are turning to comedy to lighten the mood, including Matt Carson, who has never felt more empty inside than he does right now.

“With the election coming up, and The Mandalorian’s new season premiering on Friday, I don’t know… I guess the joke just seemed obvious, but no one was saying it,” Carson said Sunday. “Baby GO-to the polls… it had to be said.”

Carson stared out the window for a moment, lost in thought, before elaborating on the joke. “During the last election, Hillary Clinton said, ‘Pokemon GO to the polls!’ So it was a reference to that. But also a reference to Baby Yoda. A person who was living in the woods wouldn’t understand the joke at all. I guess that’s part of the appeal.”

“I think the stress of 2020 is starting to get to him,” a witness to the joke, Laurie Hopper, said. “As soon as he made the joke, we thought, this joke is too funny for Matt. It required a grasp of pop culture and modern political history, as well as the ability to make a decent pun. Only a person having a rough year could make a joke that good.”

However, some experts say that Matt’s friends have nothing to worry about.

“The joke was not good enough for anyone to actually be concerned,” comedy psychologist Vince Bartlett said on Sunday. “Referencing one of Hillary Clinton’s most cringe-worthy moments is almost akin to saying something like ‘still a better love story than Twilight.’ It’s a very dated joke that almost creates more irritation than enjoyment. And even though it was layered with contemporary context, which would normally be concerning, it was still just a pun. I wouldn’t worry too much.”

Presently, his friends have agreed that if it escalates to Twitter jokes, they will need to have an intervention. We will keep you updated as the situation progresses.
